When we purchased this home, we were fortunate to meet the previous owners and hear about its history. They told us the house originally belonged to their late father, Carter — a man who built a life here filled with care, warmth, and community. The home had stayed in their family for years, and it was clear it meant a great deal to them.
We wanted to carry that spirit forward.
In honor of their father, and in appreciation for the love they poured into this place, we chose to keep the name. Carter’s Cottage is a way to preserve the memory of the man who first made this house a home, and to continue the tradition of welcome and belonging that he embodied.
Today, it’s a place for rest, gathering, and making memories. Whether you’re here for a weekend escape or a longer stay, we hope you feel the same sense of peace and connection that’s always lived within these walls.
